Easy to Make Scrappy Bracelet

Some fun bracelets to make

I hope you are doing well. I’ve missed all of you. I was looking at my stash of stuff and thought I really had a lot of sari silk – I mean a lot. So I got my thinking cap on and purchased some inexpensive bracelets and began winding the sari silk strips over the bracelet. I then used embroidery thread and wrapped that over the sari silk to secure the silk wrap. The charms were made by rubber stamping in molten solder (thank you Terri Brush for a fabulous class). You can use other types of fabric to see what you can come up with. It’s fun and fast.

Touched by an Angel

My sis invited me to an overnight girl’s trip to San Francisco and I had a blast. I also met a jewelry angel—seriously. Charna, the concierge at Nordstrom in SF gave me all those vintage little pieces that are just beautiful. Can you believe it—a complete stranger? I felt like I went to jewelry heaven.

I hated to come back to the 100+ degree temperatures but at least I had “creations” to look forward to. Here are some finished pieces and “work in progress” pieces. Charna of course is getting a special piece out of the deal. What an angel.

I’m Back!!!

Gosh I have been super bad at communicating. I am so sorry. So much to show and tell I’ll have to get everyone up to speed. I have been taking a few classes. One is Romancing the Bling with Debby Anderson. Love her. What a talent and inspiration ☺. I also have been published a few more times and will have to tell you about that.

Here’s a little something I put together the start of the year. I needed a little pick-me-up and chose “Believe in you”. I had this fabulous vintage rhinestone earring and didn’t know what to do with it. It finally called to me and I attached it to a bezel with a little bling and words. So if you have some resin, a bezel or two and some vintage jewelry you can get creative and make one of these necklaces. Believe me, it’s easy. Have a wonderful weekend.

Easy Cross Earrings

These cross earrings are so easy and fun to make. The inspiration came from Becky Nunn–the owner and creative wizard at Nunn Designs. I had the pleasure of meeting Becky when I was in Tucson and she is such a sweet, generous and humble spirit.

Supplies Needed:

• 2 earrings components
• 2 jump rings
• 2 Nunn Design crosses
• 2 Nunn Design end caps
• 2 Nunn Design Ornate Bezels (small)
• 2mm pearl chain
• 9mm crystal (two) – Dime Store Emporium (Etsy)
• Crystal Clay (black)

To make, work the clay according to the instructions and put on the bottom of the bezel so that it is flush. Then add the end cap and put a dab of clay on the bottom and attach the crystal. Put the chain around the side gently pressing to secure. Take the jump rings and secure the crosses. Attach earring component. Wear and enjoy!!! Leftovers – An Easy Mother’s Day Gift

Okay it’s not chocolate, but it is sparkly. I have so much leftover chain lying around that I decided I needed to put my addiction (some of you know what this means) to use. I love the look of chain in rows and found the perfect component by TierraCast®. It’s these 3 and 5 hole D rings. I made these different bezels and then attached the chains. The possibilities are endless and it’s a great way to get rid of some of your stash and maybe make something special for mom. I mean if you don’t have rhinestone chain, you can just link any of your favorite leftover beads. Enjoy the leftovers!!!

Saturday Playdate = Sea glass lariat

I finally got a little miffed at myself (all work and no play) and scheduled a playdate and I have to say….I had the best time (I was even well behaved). I adore the ocean and all the surprises and trinkets on the beach. Sea glass is one of them. There are so many different colors and shapes.

I got my stale, creative thinking cap on and decided I wanted to create something clean, fresh and “beachy”. I had some sea glass and decided to incorporate that into a lariat piece. If I were to renew my vows in Hawaii (just saying imagining….laugh) I would probably wear something like this. I’ve got some beautiful blue sea glass that I want to play with next.

A Special Remembrance

Sorry I have been soooo out of communication. Lots of things happening plus I got that darn bug. For someone who hardly ever gets sick—those little critters got the best of me.

I was asked to do something very special that touched my heart and I fell in love with. Here’s the story: A friend of a friend of a friend (okay, try to keep that straight) asked me to do a simple filigree brass bezel for her wedding that she wanted incorporated into the bouquet. This is the touching part. Grandpa had passed and the bride-to-be was very close to him. Her friend wanted something made to make her feel that grandpa was still with her in spirit. I could feel the beauty and love of grandpa coming through in that photo. This was such a moving project and what a wonderful friend to do something so meaningful. I can’t wait to hear the reaction!!!
